Students – City – Comics: 25 May to 15 June 2012
25. Mai 2012
On the trail of illustrated stories – A path of comics through Erlangen
The 15th Erlangen International Comic Salon 2012 is already casting a shadow: Today, on Friday, 25 May at noon, Mayor Birgitt Aßmus and cultural councillor Dr. Dieter Rossmeissl will open the comics path with 15 stops that leads through downtown Erlangen in the Freizeitzentrum Frankenhof (Südliche Stadtmauerstr. 35, 91054 Erlangen). Coordinated by the municipal cultural projects office, the Erlangen Cultural Service for Schools and Daycare Centers (KS:ER) and the Erlangen Youth Art School, 188 pupils at different educational institutions in Erlangen have drawn and written enthusiastically in workshops led by well-known comics artists and art educators since Easter vacation. The focus was on the children’s and adolescents’ living environment and its translation into the language of comics. Part of the 481 individual works are being exhibited at 15 stops along sidewalks, in shop windows or on building facades – marked by red dots on sidewalks and the MAUSS mascot. The project Students – City – Comics is supported by MAUSS Bau and the Hermann Gutmann Stiftung.
