31.01.2011
The prizes of the biggest European comic festival were awarded in Angoulême on 30 January. Already in 2010 the German-speaking comic scene was recognized when Jens Harder received the “Prix de l’audace”. This year one of the prizes goes to a comic book which was originally published in Germany: “Heute ist der letzte Tag vom Rest deines Lebens” / “Trop n’est pas assez” (avant-verlag) by Berlin-based Austrian artist Ulli Lust was awarded the “Prix Révélation” (Prize of Revelation). The most important prize of the festival, the “Prix du meilleur Album” (Prize for Best Album), goes to “Cinq mille kilomètres par seconde / “5000 Kilometer in der Sekunde” by Manuele Fior who is also represented by avant-verlag. In Germany his graphic novel will be published in May. The Lifetime Achievement Award goes to the American artist Art Spiegelman (“Maus”) who therefore will be president of the Angoulême festival in 2012. The Erlangen International Comic Salon congratulates all prize winners.
