Sadness at the passing of Jean Giraud alias Moebius

One of the most influential artists in the history of comics died last Saturday, March 10, 2012. In the year 2000, he was awarded the "Max und Moritz" Lifetime Achievement Award at the Erlangen International Comic Salon and honored with an extensive retrospective in the Städtische Galerie (city gallery) Erlangen. Andreas Platthaus and Lutz Göllner, two longtime collaborators of the Erlangen International Comic Salon, have written two very disparate, but equally moving obituaries:
